Rudy J. Bautista is the Democratic Party candidate for the Attorney General in the November 2024 Election, Utah.

Expresses support for the job the police do and dismisses claims that police violence and racial discrimination are a major problem in Utah, while recognizing that the problem is not non-existent. Supports prosecuting cops who are found to have broken the law in their interactions with the public. Suggests forming a committee dedicated to investigating accusations of police malfeasance. Supports enforcing existing drug trafficking laws to address the drugs coming up through the I-15, but criticizes that he thinks the police, sometimes, are targeting out-of-state plates in an inappropriate way. Expressed that he did not support mask mandates and some other COVID-19 measures, on constitutional grounds.[1]

Ran for Utah Attorney General in 2020 as a Libertarian and in 2024 as a Democrat.
