Christopher Niles Herrod is a real estate developer from Provo, and former Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives. He is running as a Republican candidate for the 3rd Congressional District seat in the November 2017 Election, Utah.

Herrod has expressed that he feels that the Trump/Russia investigation is a waste.[1] He has been endorsed by Rand Paul.[2] He has also gotten support from Ted Cruz, who's campaign he worked on during the 2016 presidential race.[3][4]

In 2016, Herrod ran for Utah State Senate District 16, against Curt Bramble, and was defeated in the primary.

In 2012, Herrod to challenged Orrin Hatch's Senate seat and was defeated. During this election he stated "I absolutely hate the direction that we are going in as a nation. I hate socialism." That same year, the Sutherlnd Institute gave Herrod a legislative score of 100%.[5]
