Burgess Owens is a former NFL football player running as the Republican candidate for the U.S. House District 4 in the November 2024 Election, Utah.

He has generally faced off against candidates weak or distasteful enough that there hasn't been an alternative worth considering, but his actions in dishonestly slandering representatives who challenged Kevin McCarthy in 2023 and failing to be on their side, mark him as a candidate who will be far less likely to earn our support in the future.

On the 4th of January 2023, Burgess Owens slandered the freedom caucus members who challenged Kevin McCarthy's leadership, imputing to them an evil agenda and setting himself up against an agenda that all honest individuals should have supported, but, in the House of Representatives, few did.[1]
