=== Positions and Actions ===
On his first day in office, Donald Trump signed an executive order directing various officials working under the executive branch of government to interpret legislation associated with the Affordable Care Act (aka. Obamacare) loosely and leniently. He also directed that implementation of new regulations (from the previous administration) be halted pending review. On day 3 he reinstituted the "Mexico City Policy", withdrew the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership Negotiations and Agreement, and instituted a hiring freeze for new federal workers (exempting the military). On day four he directed that environmental assessments be processed more expeditiously. On day six, he directed that border security be beefed up, that existing funds be used to commence the construction of his promised wall, and that some funding be cut from so-called sanctuary cities. On day seven, he directed that refugees from certain countries be put on hold for 120 days, and that travel be restricted for people from these countries. On day nine he directed that administration officials could never lobby on behalf of foreign governments, and imposed a 5 year ban on other lobbying. On day 11 he directed that for every new regulation, two existing regulations must be identified for removal. He also directed that for fiscal year 2017, the incremental cost of all new and repealed regulations could be no more than $0. On day 15, he directed financial regulators to apply a set of core principals that he defined, in interpreting legislation. On day 18 he directed the creation of a task force on crime reduction and public safety, he directed that there be more information sharing on transnational criminal syndicates, and he directed the Justice Department to use existing law to prosecute violence perpetrated against law enforcement officers. On day 20 he defined an order of succession for the attorney general.<ref>Lauren Said Moorehouse, [http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/26/politics/executive-orders-presidents-actions-presidential-memoranda/ "What Trump has done so far and what it all means"], CNN, 10 Feb 2017</ref>

I think she’s the best thing he’s got going, (that) and his kids." After the Daily Mail ran a story about Melania Trump reporting the existence of rumors and claims that she had worked as an escort, pointing out issues with her claims regarding her early immigration status, and acknowledging claims that she had begun seeing Trump while he was still married to his previous wife, Melania responded by having her lawyers send letters to various news organizations which had reported on the claims, threatening them with a lawsuit. ===Jennifer Hawkins===
In 2011, a miscommunication between Donald Trump and a former Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins, from Australia, led Trump to believe that Jennifer was refusing to introduce him at an event in Australia. Jennifer did, in fact, make the desired introduction. However, Donald Trump, remained upset, feeling that she owed it to him because of how winning the Miss Universe Pageant had influenced her career. So, Donald Trump proceeded to dedicate a portion of his time to humiliate her, saying "get even with people. If they screw you, screw them back 10 times as hard. I really believe that." He proceeded by detailing how he had originally planned on insulting her intelligence, even though it would have been untrue, and then, in spite of her attempts to defend herself and obvious discomfort, he made her the butt of a crude joke.<ref>Ryan Grim, [http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-jennifer-hawkins-video_us_58137b85e4b0390e69cfbbba "Video Shows Donald Trump Sexually Humiliating Woman Before Large Audience"], Huffington Post, 28 Oct 2016</ref>

=== Alicia Machado === | |||
Hillary Clinton attempted to bring Donald Trump's treatment of women into the spotlight in September 2016 by showcasing Alicia Machado, a former Miss Universe from Venezuela who Donald Trump had referred to as "Miss Piggy" during her stint as Miss Universe when she started gaining weight. Unfortunately for Hillary, once people started paying attention to Alicia, they found that her background did not recommend her as a great example of having been victimized by Trump. From having a daughter born to a drug lord, to having sex on camera during a reality TV show while engaged, to threatening to kill a judge, Alicia Machado's self-destructive behavior doesn't do anything to sell her to the American heart and mind.<ref>David Martosko, [http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3812212/I-m-not-saint-girl-Sex-reality-TV-Playboy-photo-shoot-threat-kill-judge-claims-drug-lord-fathered-baby-haunt-Alicia-Machado-Clinton-campaigner-fat-shamed-Trump.html "Sex on a reality TV show, a Playboy photo shoot, a threat to kill a judge and claims that a drug lord fathered her baby: Behind 'Miss Piggy' the beauty queen turned Clinton campaigner 'fat-shamed' by Trump"], DailyMail, 28 Sep 2016</ref><ref>[http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2016/09/28/miss-universe-alicia-machado-accused-threatening-to-kill-judge-in-late-90s.html "Miss Universe Alicia Machado accused of threatening to kill judge in late '90s"], Fox News, 28 Sep 2016</ref> However, going beyond those tangential details, it seems hard to avoid the fact that when Trump defends himself by saying that he saved her job, that he's making a completely valid point. Trump claims to have stepped in to give her a second chance, with a little tough love.<ref>[http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/09/28/trump-slams-ex-miss-universe-says-saved-her-job.html "Trump slams ex-Miss Universe, says 'I saved her job'"], Fox News, 28 Sep 2016</ref>

In particular, he stated, "And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. <nowiki>[...]</nowiki> Grab them by the p---y. You can do anything." On 8 March 2016, Michelle Fields, working as a reporter for Breitbart News, approached Donald Trump as he was leaving a venue when Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, grabbed her and pulled her away. News of the assault broke when her boyfriend, Jamie Weinstein, himself a senior editor for Daily Caller, complained about the incident over Twitter. He latter explained that he "thought the best way to force an apology or some contrition was by making it public."<ref>Jamie Weinstein, [https://twitter.com/jamie_weinstein/status/707407739744591872 7:28 PM - 8 Mar 2016], Twitter</ref> The Trump campaign responded by claiming that there was no recording or witnesses to suggest that any such event occurred, and that Michelle was "delusional". Trump, himself expressed his belief that Michelle was making it all up. Breitbart published Michelle's account of what happened on 10 Mar 2016.<ref>Michelle Fields, [http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2016/03/10/3276486/ "Michelle Fields: In Her Own Words"], Breitbart, 10 Mar 2016</ref>Michelle tweeted out a photo the same day as her story was published, showing apparent bruising on her forearm.<ref>Michelle Fields, [https://twitter.com/MichelleFields/status/708005032839548929 11:02 AM - 10 Mar 2016], Twitter</ref> Corey Lewandowski responded with a tweet stating "@MichelleFields you are totally delusional. They found witness verification and surveillance video proving that Corey Lewandowski had assaulted Michelle. Trump, however tried to claim that the surveillance video supported his claim, tweeting out "Look at tapes-nothing there!" His claims of exaggeration would include the assertion that she claimed to have been thrown to the ground, which she never did as can be verified from Michelle's account published on Breitbart.<ref>Donald Trump, [https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/714855025055514624 9:41 AM - 29 Mar 2016], Twitter</ref> He further, ironically, made claims that Michelle had exaggerated the incident before she became aware of the video evidence, and further, that she had grabbed him, a statement which cannot be supported based on eyewitness accounts, and seems highly unlikely based on the available footage. Lewandowski was able to avoid charges when his lawyers and the campaign started to spin the incident as Lewandowski trying to protect Trump from a potential threat. Trump even made the claim that Michelles pen might have been a knife or a little bomb. <ref>Robert Mackey, [https://theintercept.com/2016/03/29/video-trumps-club-proves-campaign-manager-lied-grabbing-reporter/ "Donald Trump’s Own Surveillance Camera Proves His Campaign Manager Lied About Grabbing Reporter"], The Intercept, 29 Mar 2016</ref><ref>Hadas Gold, [http://www.politico.com/blogs/on-media/2016/04/michelle-fields-interview-222193 "Michelle Fields on her part in the Trump drama, and a 'disappointing' investigation"], Politico, 20 Apr 2016</ref>
Michelle found the investigation, on the whole, disappointing. The investigators failed to interview Ben Terris, a Washington Post reporter who was with fields immediately after the assault. Michelle also objected to their using nothing more than an affidavit from a former FBI agent introduced by Lewandowski's lawyers, to vouch for how the Secret Service protects candidates and to substantiate his claim that he acted legitimately in responding to a possible threat. In addition, the investigator's boss, Palm Beach County State Attorney David Aronberg, is known to socialize with Trump. In excusing himself for his involvement, he has downplayed that connection.<ref>Hadas Gold, [http://www.politico.com/blogs/on-media/2016/04/michelle-fields-interview-222193 "Michelle Fields on her part in the Trump drama, and a 'disappointing' investigation"], Politico, 20 Apr 2016</ref>
Ultimately, Michelle's employer, Breitbart, turned against her, and she left the organization and found a new job with the Huffington Post. During the Republican primary, one of Donald Trump's opponents was Dr. Ben Carson, who, while weak on constitutional principles, had a reputation for being strong on Christian principles and morality. Nevertheless, Donald Trump saw fit to compare Dr. Carson to a child molester, saying, "that’s a big problem because you don’t cure that … as an example: child molesting. You don’t cure these people. You don’t cure a child molester. There’s no cure for it. Pathological, there’s no cure for that."<ref>Jonah Shepp, [http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2015/11/trump-carson-pathological-like-child-molester.html "Trump Compares Ben Carson’s ‘Pathological Temper’ to Child Molesting"], New York, 12 Nov 2015</ref> Dr. Carson shrugged it off as the press misinterpreting what Donald Trump had said.<ref>Andrew Husband, [http://www.mediaite.com/tv/ben-carson-blames-press-for-donald-trumps-child-molester-comparison/ "Ben Carson Blames Press for Donald Trump’s Child Molester Comparison"], Mediaite, 13 Nov 2015</ref>

In an October 2016 interview he sounds hysterical as he rails against "you people in the media", implying that Trump's sexual assault accusers are lying, but that it doesn't matter, and that they should wait until after the election to talk about Christian values and character issues.<ref>Josh Hammer, [http://theresurgent.com/new-trump-surrogate-line-the-truth-doesnt-matter/ "New Trump Surrogate Line: The Truth Doesn’t Matter"], The Resurgent, 14 Oct 2016</ref>

This was in response to a statement that McCain had made regarding Trump, that "this performance with our friend out in Phoenix is very hurtful to me, because what he did was he fired up the crazies." Donald Trump is the President-elect of the Unites States. He was elected as a Republican in the November 2016 Election.
He has chose Mike Pence as his vice-president.[1]
Donald Trump has failed to demonstrate any understanding of the U. S. Constitution, and has voiced support and admiration for tyrants.[2][3] Combine this with his personal style of lying, bullying, bombasting, and intimidating, and a Donald Trump presidency, sounds like a scary thing, even in spite of his promotion of some positive agenda items.
Presidency
Positions and Actions
On day 20 he defined an order of succession for the attorney general.[4]
Donald Trump, during Feb 2017, in a meeting with Sheriffs at the oval office, expressed support for Civil Asset Forfeiture.[5]

2016 Election Unendorsements
One thing that oddly sticks out about Donald Trump, is the very public way in which major party players struggle to endorse him, fail to endorse him, or unendorse him.[28][29]
One of the most famous episodes in the Republican primary was Mitt Romney's plea for Republicans to vote for somebody else, anybody else.[30] Trump responded to a slice of that criticism by infamously trotting out a table full of mostly Trump branded products that you mostly can't get ahold of outside of his hotels (if even there), including a pile of vacuum-sealed steaks with a Bush Brothers logo on them.[31][32] In 2014, Trump told a reporter that Romney had lost his 2012 bid for the white house because his unusual religion didn't sit well with people.[33] Mitt Romney's son, Josh Romney warned, in September 2016 that Trump could be causing permanent damage to the GOP.[34]
During the Republican National Convention, Ted Cruz, gave a speech to thunderous boos for failing to heed the call to endorse Trump.[35] Trump initially reacted by saying this lack of endorsement was no big deal and that he had seen the speech two hours earlier.[36][37] Cruz defended his position by saying that he wasn't in the habit of endorsing candidates who attacked his wife and father, following which Trump went before the press to give a speech which focused on attacking Cruz in a very personal and vindictive way, maligning his intelligence, asserting that he changed his speech from the one that he had submitted, returning to imply that Cruz's father was linked to the assassination of JFK, and saying "I think Heidi Cruz is a great person. I think she’s the best thing he’s got going, (that) and his kids." He asserted that he thought Cruz would eventual offer to endorse him, but that he would refuse, and that if Cruz ever sought higher office again, he would set up his own Super PAC to attack him.[38][39] In September 2016, Cruz endorsed Donald Trump, though refused to recant on his criticisms. He cited the typical logic of a binary candidate choice and voting for the lesser of two evils.[40]
John Kasich refused to attend the convention, explianing "If I weren't prepared to get up there and endorse the nominee, I thought it was inappropriate to go." Although he has so far refused to offer an endorsement, he has maintained that it is possible.[41][42]
Senator Mike Lee of Utah has refused to endorse Trump, and even helped lead a failed push to change party rules so that delegates would be free to choose someone else.[43][44] This led to one Utah delegate being threatened by Trump supporters in the bathroom.[45][46] In October 2016, after a recording of Trump making demeaning comments about women and describing an attempt to seduce a married women, Mike Lee issued a call for Donald Trump to step down.[47]
Rep. Mia B. Love, also from Utah was notably absent from the convention as well, initially announcing a plan to join Rep. Jason Chaffetz in Israel to learn more about fighting terorism, but then changing plans to spend that time campaigning in Utah.[48] Regarding her decision to not attend the convention, she stated "I don’t see any upsides to it. I don’t see how this benefits the state."[49] Trump is so unpopular in Utah that his nomination threatens Mia Love's reelection bid this November.[50]
Paul Ryan took his time endorsing Trump, at one point stating "To be perfectly candid, I'm not ready to do that right now". Even now his support has been notably tepid.[51][52] He has specifically repudiated Trump's trade platform.[53]Donald Trump has declined to endorse Paul Ryan, stating "I like Paul, but these are horrible times for our country. We need very strong leadership. We need very, very strong leadership. And I'm just not quite there yet. I'm not quite there yet."[54] Ryan responded that "He’s had a pretty strange run since the convention. You would think that we want to be focusing on Hillary Clinton, on all of her deficiencies. She is such a weak candidate that one would think that we would be on offense against Hillary Clinton, and it is distressing that that’s not what we’re talking about these days."[55] In October 2016, after a recording of Trump making demeaning comments about women and describing an attempt to seduce a married women, Paul Ryan announced that he planned to end his efforts to support the Trump campaign and focus of saving the seats of legislators to help maintain the Republican majority. Trump has responded by decrying the "disloyalty" of Republicans, but also describing their defection as a boon, saying "the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to."[56][57]
Gov. Gary R. Herbert of Utah has expressed support for the Trump-Pence ticket as being for the sake of Pence.[58] His Lieutenant Governor, Spencer J. Cox has declared that without major changes, he will not be voting for Trump, stating further that "if there were some major changes to Trump, I think there's a way many of us could support him, but he hasn't shown any inclination toward those changes or doing things differently, so I think it's a long shot that he will change". He has expressed that he is considering Gary Johnson, Evan McMullin, or a write-in.[59]
Rep. Richard Hanna, a Republican congressman From New York has declared that he will be voting for Hillary Clinton.[60]
Mark Kirk, an Illinois Senator running for reelection, has made his anti-Trump stance a significant part of his message during his campaign, running one ad that states, "Mark Kirk bucked his party to say Donald Trump is not fit to be commander-in-chief."[61]
Large conservative donors like Meg Whitman, and the Koch Brothers have decided to sit this race out, or even fund Hillary, rather than support Donald Trump.[62]
Evan McMullin, a former CIA operative and former chief policy director for the House Republican Conference has announced an anti-Trump run for the Whitehouse.[63][64]
Conservative media has hammered Trump pretty hard and a pole of anonymous GOP insiders finds that most want Trump to drop out.[65][66]
A group of 50 former security officials have issued a letter rebuking Trump and declaring their intention to not vote for him.[67][68] One of these officials, John Negroponte, has endorsed Hillary Clinton.[69]
A group of former lawmakers and former party staffers have issued a letter urging the GOP to divert all financial support from the Trump campaign to legislative campaigns in order to maintain the majorities that might be useful for countering a Hillary Clinton presidency.[70]
Colin Powell has called Donald Trump a national disgrace.[71]
George H. W. Bush is rumored to be planning on voting for Hillary Clinton.[72][73]
In October 2016, after a recording of Trump making demeaning comments about women and describing an attempt to seduce a married women, he was publicly denounced by several Republicans, including Reince Priebus, who described the comments as "indefensible"and further stated, "No woman should ever be described in these terms or talked about in this manner. Ever."[74] The report also led Governor Gary Herbert of Utah and Jason Chaffetz, representative from Utah, to withdraw their respective endorsements. Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman called on Donald Trump to step down.[75] Though Jason Chaffetz later on declared that he would be voting for Trump despite his unwillingness to endorse the presidential candidate and insisted tat his pronounced intention to vote for Trump was meaningfully different from an endorsement.[76][77] Senator Mike Crapo from Idaho withdrew his endorsement and Senator Jeff Flake from Arizona tweeted that "America deserves far better than @realDonaldTrump".[78][79] A report issued in October 2016 also reveals that Trump's recorded conversation with Billy Bush has had a donor backlash.[80]
First Amendment
"One of the things I'm going to do if I win, and I hope we do and we're certainly leading. I'm going to open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money. We're going to open up those libel laws. So when The New York Times writes a hit piece which is a total disgrace or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money instead of having no chance of winning because they're totally protected"[81]
After winning the election, Trump tweeted "Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag - if they do, there must be consequences - perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!"[82][83]
Melania's Lawsuit Threat against News Organizations
After the Daily Mail ran a story about Melania Trump reporting the existence of rumors and claims that she had worked as an escort, pointing out issues with her claims regarding her early immigration status, and acknowledging claims that she had begun seeing Trump while he was still married to his previous wife, Melania responded by having her lawyers send letters to various news organizations which had reported on the claims, threatening them with a lawsuit. She was successful in getting a couple of retractions. In most, if not all cases, these threats are directed towards news outlets in the UK, where defamation lawsuits are more easily won.[84][85][86][87][88]
Second Amendment
His official campaign website has Trump defending our second amendment rights. He proposes that concealed carry permits should be made valid across state lines, just like drivers licenses. He also proposes streamlining of background checks and elimination of rules preventing soldiers from carrying weapons on bases and at recruitment centers. In order to reduce the incidents of criminal gun violence he proposes better enforcement of existing laws, and improving our mental health system to get dangerous individuals off the streets.
Trump University
Donald Trump is dealing with a lawsuit in San Diego where Trump University, which he is the principle owner of, has been accused of swindling students out of up to $35,000. Trump has attacked the Judge's character publicly, calling him a "Trump hater" on account of his Mexican heritage. His attacks on the judge's character have been construed as intimidation, and sufficient that he could be found in contempt of court.[89][90] One former sales manager testified, “I believe that Trump University was a fraudulent scheme, and that it preyed upon the elderly and uneducated to separate them from their money.”[91]
Immigration
Trump's immigration stance rejects providing a path to citizenship for people already in the U.S. illegally.[92][93]
The Wall
Trump has proposed building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico in order to help control the problem of Mexican gangs freely expanding into the United States. He has proposed to get Mexico to effectively pay for the wall using a combination of tariffs, increased visa fees, threatening to block the money transfers of illegal aliens, and using seized funds from drug trafficking at the border.[94]
The former President of Mexico, Vincente Fox, and the new President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, have both asserted that Mexico will not be paying for the wall, drawing renewed assertions from Trump that Mexico will pay for the wall.[95]
In July 2016, one Mexican newspaper has suggested that Mexico should consider building a Trump-style along Mexico's southern border.[96] In September 2016, the UK announced that it would be building a 13-foot wall around a border port in France in order to help combat illegal immigration.[97]
In Aug 2016, Trump reiterated his intention to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico during a presentation on his immigration policy.[98]
Despite wide criticism for his plan to build a wall, up until the Trump campaign, politicians had been promising, and failing to provide, a wall between the U.S. and Mexico for decades. Hillary Clinton, herself, is on record having advocated for the building of a wall in 2006.[99]
Alleged Racism and Ties to Racists
One demographic of supporters that has caused Trump some problems is the white supremacists. In 2015, David Duke, A white nationalist and former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan expressed support for Donald Trump. Trump was asked if he would repudiate that support, and expressed a disinterested willingness to repudiate David Duke's support, also claiming not to really know who he was, though past statements by Donald Trump did show that he knew of him.[100]
In late October, news broke that William Johnson, a GOP delegate and an avowed white supremacist, was funding a robocall to support Donald Trump, in which he accused 3rd party challenger of being gay. (Evan McMullin has denied being gay.) The Trump campaign reacted by asserting that William Johnson had only been included as a delegate due to a "database error," and Johnson resigned his position.[101] In the midst of the robocalling campaign, in early November, William Johnson cut off the robocalls and issued an apology "for the mean-spirited message."[102]
Donald Trump was hit by the issue again when "The Crusader", a KKK publication, published praise of Trump. The Trump campaign responded by issuing a statement saying "this publication is repulsive and their views do not represent the tens of millions of Americans who are uniting behind our campaign."[103]
In December 2016 actor, Tom Arnold, alleged that he had a tape of Apprentice outtakes sent to him by the shows producers that stitched together a number of eye raising racist remarks made by Donald Trump.[104]
Religion
Regarding religion, is is noteworthy that Trump stated, in 2014, that Romeny lost his 2012 bid for the white house because his unusual religion didn't sit well with Americans. In 2015, his spokesperson asserted that the feds had shut down Mormon and Seventh Day Adventist churches, which would serve as precedent for Trump to shut down mosques.[105][106] Trump has principally attacked the rights of Muslims.
Women
In 2011, it has been reported that when an opposing attorney, Elizabeth Beck, requested a break to pump breast milk, that Donald Trump reacted by screaming "You're disgusting, you're disgusting" and running out of the room. It is claimed that Trump had decided that he wanted to skip a pre-planned lunch break, precipitating Beck's Request. Trump, for his part, asserts that Beck had attempted to pump breast milk right in the middle of a deposition.[107]
In 2015, Donald Trump famously criticized his rival, Carly Fiorina, by saying "Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president."[108]
An AP report published in October 2016 revealed many consistent alligations of Trump behaving inappropriatly on the set of Celebrity Apprentice, frequently asking male cast members if they would sleep with one of the female contestants, sexually harassing a member of the camera crew (at one point commenting that the only woman prettier was his daughter Ivanka), and otherwise raising eyebrows with sexually suggestive behavior that would never fly in a regular workplace.[109]
Megyn Kelly
Donald trump had a notable feud with Megyn Kelly. After a debate in 2015, Donald, upset about a line of questioning, told CNN "you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes; blood coming out of her wherever."[110]
Kelly has shared that a few weeks before the debate, she had aired an interview with a reporter at the Daily Beast, in which Ivana Trump's rape allegations were discussed. Trump was angered by the interview and called to complain, threatening "I almost unleashed my beautiful Twitter account on you, and I still may." Megyn expressed a belief that it was, in fact, this interview that formed the foundation of the abuse that Trump would later direct toward her. She shares that getting friends of Trump to intercede for her was useless, but that she was finally able to get Trump to back off after meeting with him personally, though it unclear exactly how they came to an agreement.[111]
Trump Surrogate, Newt Gingrich, when questioned by Megyn Kelly in October 2016 about the allegations of sexual assault, deflected by, in effect, accusing Megyn Kelly of media bias, at one point stating "you are fascinated with sex, and you don’t care about public policy."[112]
Jennifer Hawkins
In 2011, a miscommunication between Donald Trump and a former Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins, from Australia, led Trump to believe that Jennifer was refusing to introduce him at an event in Australia. Jennifer did, in fact, make the desired introduction. However, Donald Trump, remained upset, feeling that she owed it to him because of how winning the Miss Universe Pageant had influenced her career. So, Donald Trump proceeded to dedicate a portion of his time to humiliate her, saying "get even with people. If they screw you, screw them back 10 times as hard. I really believe that." He proceeded by detailing how he had originally planned on insulting her intelligence, even though it would have been untrue, and then, in spite of her attempts to defend herself and obvious discomfort, he made her the butt of a crude joke.[113]
Jennifer Hawkins has responded to the circulation of a video of this encounter by stating "Donald and his family, I have to say, have always been respectful to me, and that's all I can really say." It is hard to imagine how she came to that assessment of the situation.[114]
Alicia Machado
Hillary Clinton attempted to bring Donald Trump's treatment of women into the spotlight in September 2016 by showcasing Alicia Machado, a former Miss Universe from Venezuela who Donald Trump had referred to as "Miss Piggy" during her stint as Miss Universe when she started gaining weight. Unfortunately for Hillary, once people started paying attention to Alicia, they found that her background did not recommend her as a great example of having been victimized by Trump. From having a daughter born to a drug lord, to having sex on camera during a reality TV show while engaged, to threatening to kill a judge, Alicia Machado's self-destructive behavior doesn't do anything to sell her to the American heart and mind.[115][116] However, going beyond those tangential details, it seems hard to avoid the fact that when Trump defends himself by saying that he saved her job, that he's making a completely valid point. As Donald Trump describes it, when Alicia Machado stopped taking care of her appearance, as required by her contract, and started gaining an alarming amount of weight, the Miss Universe Pageant was inclined to fire her. Trump claims to have stepped in to give her a second chance, with a little tough love.[117]
Billy Bush Conversation
In October 2016, the Washington Post released a recording of a conversation Trump had with Billy Bush of Access Hollywood in 2005, during which he described having attempted to sleep with a particular married woman (while Trump was also married) and bragged that as a celebrity he could sexually assault women and nobody would stop him and he wouldn't get in trouble. In particular, he stated, "And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. [...] Grab them by the p---y. You can do anything." Trump responded by dismissing the comments as "locker-room banter".[118] The release of this tape led to major defections in the Republican party. Trump has responded by decrying the "disloyalty" of Republicans, but also describing their defection as a boon, saying "the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to."[119] Trump has also pointed to the creepy behavior of Joe Biden to deflect attention away from himself.[120]
Nancy O'Dell, the married woman Trump had described trying to seduce, responded to the airing of this history by condemning the kind of demeaning talk that Trump had engaged in.[121]
Arianne Zucker, another woman Donald Trump had referred to during his leaked conversation with Billy Bush, responded by saying "I have grown to learn that the words of others cannot effect the value of my self worth or define the content of my character. How we treat one another, whether behind closed doors, locker rooms or face to face, should be done with kindness, dignity and respect. Unfortunately, there are too many people in power who abuse their position and disregard these simple principles and are rewarded for it."[122]
After the tape's release, Billy Bush was suspended from the Today Show. Within a week of the tape's release, it was reported that NBC had already fired him and was simply waiting for the most politic time to announce it.[123] This conflicts with reports that Billy Bush would, in fact, keep his job and that position of NBC is that Billy Bush is horrible embarrassed and that he has matured in the 11 years since the conversation was recorded.[124] The rumor had it that Billy Bush is considering a lawsuit since his employer, NBC had possession of the tape and so someone at NBC must have leaked the tape.[125] Later rumors suggest that he will be forced out of the Today Show, but that NBC will be paying him a huge settlement to leave.[126] Billy Bush reportedly made associates aware of the video when he bragged about having a "tape of Trump being a real dog," while he was covering the Olympics in Rio, which prompted someone to track it down.[127] Billy's wife is reportedly furious at him for his comments.[128]
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, when asked about the incident responded, "Well, I don't know what this would… English is not my mother tongue, I don't know if I would sound decent. There are so many pussies around the presidential campaign on both sides that I prefer not to comment on this."[129]
Former Playboy centerfolds, Shane and Sia Barbi indicate that they always saw hime treat women respectfully, and that he was all business, even when he had beautiful women fawning over him. Although they don't give credit to the allegations against him, neither has plans to vote for him.[130]
Donald's wife, Melania Trump has stated, "Those words, they were offensive to me and they were inappropriate, and he apologized to me. And I expect -- I accept his apology. And we are moving on."[131]
Rape Allegations
Donald Trump is connected to the same Jeffrey Epstein, pedophile to the stars, that has been suggestively linked to Bill Clinton. Trump was sued in 2016 for raping and threatening a 13-year-old girl named Katie Johnson at a party where she was said to have been held captive by Mr. Epstein. There's even an eyewitness.[132][133] Although, the supporters of Katie Johnson's lawsuit are reported to have had a falling out.[134][135]
Epstein is alleged to have molested underage girls and procured underage girls for his powerful friends to enjoy. He was given a plea deal in 2008, without input from his victims, which got him 13 months in prison and home detention, with key evidence being left sealed. It is suspected that he may have been aided in receiving this light sentencing by some of his powerful friends seeking to keep their own crimes out from under the public spotlight.[136][137][138][139]
Edwards, a lawyer for one of Epstein's victims, Virginia Roberts, estimate that Trump was not involved in any of Epsteins illegal shenanigans.[140]
Trump has denied having any kind of a relationship with Epstein, but there is plenty of evidence to show that this is a false assertion. Regarding Epstein, Trump is reported to have stated: "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it -- Jeffrey enjoys his social life."[141] Further, Epstein's contacts book contains a long list of numbers for Trump contacts. Message pads from Epstein's home show that Trump called Epstein twice in November 2004. When Jeffrey Epstein was asked, during testimony, "Have you ever socialized with Donald Trump in the presence of females under the age of 18?", Epstein responded by pleading the 5th. Also, Virginia Roberts, probably the most well-known of Epstein's victims, was working at Trump's Mar-A-Lago resort when she was recruited by Epstein and turned into a sex slave.[142][143] Mark Epstein, brother of Jeffrey Epstein, also placed Trump on Jeffrey's infamous plane on one occasion and asserted that Jeffrey and Trump were friends. When asked abut why Trump was there, Mark replied, "you’ll have to ask Donald. I think he wanted a ride back to New York." This is also testimony that Trump ate at Jeffrey Epstein's house on one occasion, though the testimony places him in the kitchen with his meal.[144]
In addition, Trump has been accused of raping his ex-wife Ivana Trump, and attempting to rape one Jill Harth. Regarding the allegation that Trump raped his ex-wife, one of his lawyers defended him, claiming “It is true, you cannot rape your spouse. And there’s very clear case law.”[145][146][147]
Sexual Assault and Voyeurism Allegations
Shortly after Trump's infamous conversation with Billy Bush was made public in October 2016, 3 separate reports were published detailing assault allegations made by a total of 4 women. Jessica Leeds of New York claimed to have been groped by Donald Trump during a flight in the 80's, stating "He was like an octopus. His hands were everywhere ... It was an assault." Rachel Crooks asserted that Donald, "kissed me directly on the mouth" outside an elevator in 2005 after she introduced herself. Mindy McGillivray described being groped by Trump in January 2003. Lastly, Natasha Stoynoff, of PEOPLE Magazine wrote of an encounter she had with Trump in 2005 during which she found herself pinned to the wall by Trump with him "forcing his tongue down my throat."[148] Trump immediately demanded that the New York Times retract their "libelous article" covering the first two of the aforementioned allegations.[149]
A report released on BuzzFeed added fuel to the fire with a story reporting that Donald Trump had nonchalantly walked in on teen beauty queens while they were dressing for a pageant. The report goes on to quote Donald Trump in an interview with Howard Stern in 2005 saying "I’ll tell you the funniest is that I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed. No men are anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in, because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it. … ‘Is everyone OK?’ You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody OK?’ And you see these incredible-looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that."[150] The New York Post further reported an account by Tasha Dixon, who was Miss Arizona in 2001, that “our first introduction to him was when we were at the dress rehearsal and half-naked changing into our bikinis. He just came strolling right in. There was no second to put a robe on or any sort of clothing or anything. Some girls were topless. Other girls were naked.”[151] Howard Stern has indicated that will not "betray" Trump by re-airing his archived interview material.[152]
Trump has claimed that Carlos Slim, a Mexican billionaire, is the author of the sexual assault allegations against him.[153]
Two more women came forward with sexual assault allegations on the 14th of October. Kristin Anderson told the Washington Post that in the early 1990's, she was at a crowded nightspot in Manhattan when Trump groped her.[154] Summer Zervos alleges that, as a former contestant on The Apprentice, she contacted Trump in 2007 about a job and that at one meeting with him, Trump kissed her without invitation, and at a second meeting, he kissed her again and groped her.[155] Trump has continued to maintain that the allegations are fabricated. However Summer Zervos's lawyer, Gloria Allred, maintains that many more women have come to her with allegations against Donald Trump since his conversation with Billy Bush aired.[156] Karena Virginia, a yoga instructor, accused Donald Trump of groping her at the U.S. Open in 1998 and responding to her shock by saying "Don't you know who I am? Don't you know who I am?"[157]
Jessica Drake has accused Donald Trump of harrassing her, assaulting her, and sexually assaulting her (with an unwanted kiss), and attempting to pay her to accept his advances, which she refused. Salma Hayek has also accused Donald Trump of harrassment.[158] Regarding Jessica Drake, Trump is on record as having said "You know, this one that came out recently, ‘he grabbed me and he grabbed me on the arm.’ Oh, I’m sure she’s never been grabbed before."[159][160]
Donald Trump has called his accusers liars and promised to sue them all after the election is over. Trump's assertions, however may land him with a similar lawsuit filed against him.[161]
Trump Surrogate, Newt Gingrich, when questioned by Megyn Kelly in October 2016 about the allegations of sexual assault, deflected by, in effect, accusing Megyn Kelly of media bias, at one point stating "you are fascinated with sex, and you don’t care about public policy."[162] This mirrors an interaction Trump Surrogate, Ben Carson, had when questioned about the issue earlier the same month. Dr. Carson's often incoherent defense of Trump was even more ironic though given that it presented viewers with the spectacle of a long-time defender of morality and Chirstianity turning around and asserting that they should wait until after the election to talk about Christian values and character issues.[163]
Michelle Fields
On 8 March 2016, Michelle Fields, working as a reporter for Breitbart News, approached Donald Trump as he was leaving a venue when Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, grabbed her and pulled her away. News of the assault broke when her boyfriend, Jamie Weinstein, himself a senior editor for Daily Caller, complained about the incident over Twitter. He latter explained that he "thought the best way to force an apology or some contrition was by making it public."[164] The Trump campaign responded by claiming that there was no recording or witnesses to suggest that any such event occurred, and that Michelle was "delusional". Trump, himself expressed his belief that Michelle was making it all up. Breitbart published Michelle's account of what happened on 10 Mar 2016.[165]Michelle tweeted out a photo the same day as her story was published, showing apparent bruising on her forearm.[166] Corey Lewandowski responded with a tweet stating "@MichelleFields you are totally delusional. I never touched you. As a matter of fact, I have never even met you." Corey would later claim that he attempted to call her and apologize to her the same night as the incident.[167] An apology not forthcoming, Michelle went to the police who then began an investigation. They found witness verification and surveillance video proving that Corey Lewandowski had assaulted Michelle. Trump, however tried to claim that the surveillance video supported his claim, tweeting out "Look at tapes-nothing there!" His claims of exaggeration would include the assertion that she claimed to have been thrown to the ground, which she never did as can be verified from Michelle's account published on Breitbart.[168] He further, ironically, made claims that Michelle had exaggerated the incident before she became aware of the video evidence, and further, that she had grabbed him, a statement which cannot be supported based on eyewitness accounts, and seems highly unlikely based on the available footage. Lewandowski was able to avoid charges when his lawyers and the campaign started to spin the incident as Lewandowski trying to protect Trump from a potential threat. Trump even made the claim that Michelles pen might have been a knife or a little bomb. [169][170]
In excusing himself for his involvement, he has downplayed that connection.[171]
Ultimately, Michelle's employer, Breitbart, turned against her, and she left the organization and found a new job with the Huffington Post. Her treatment by Breitbart led three other coworkers to leave the organization as well. One of these resigning coworkers, Jordan Schachtel, stated, "Breitbart News is no longer a journalistic enterprise, but instead, in my opinion, something resembling an unaffiliated media Super PAC for the Trump campaign. I signed my contract to work as a journalist, not as a member of the Donald J. Trump for President media network."[172] Stephen K. Bannon, the chairman of Breitbart was later to be appointed CEO of the Trump campaign.[173] After getting her job at the Huffington Post, one of Michelle's former co-workers, Matt Boyle, wrote to a liberal employee at the Huffington Post, passing himself off as an anti-Trump liberal and impugning her ability to cover Trump because she had worked for Breitbart and was therefore likely to be a Trump supporter. He urged a petition be signed and passed around for signatures in order to get her removed from her new post.[174]
Since the story became media fodder, Michelle has been accused, by conservative personalities, of lobbing false accusations against people on a regular basis in order to gain attention for herself. This smear campaign has been ugly and disgusting.
- While covering the Occupy protest in New York in 2011, it has been reported that police assaulted both Michelle Fields and her videographer, Direna Cousins.[175] There seems to be no reason to cast doubt on this incident, nor any evidence that she sought to gain exposure from the incident in any way. Nevertheless, two days after assaulting Michelle Fields, Corey Lewandowski made the claim that this incident was fabricated by Michelle and that it was part of a pattern of attention seeking.[176][177] James Weinstein replied to this accusation by providing a photograph of the assault.[178]
- Conservative personality Mark Dice has put together a video detailing an encounter he had with Michelle Fields at Occupy Bilderberg. He managed to prove that Michelle was socially awkward when she was just out of college, and that he is also incapable of perceiving that he is making somebody feel uncomfortable despite repeated attempts to communicate that fact. While Michelle never accused him, in particular, of harassment, his behavior clearly rises to that level, and despite the fact that he has the privilege of framing his accusation to put himself in the best light, it is easy to see how he might have precipitated her portrayal of events.[179][180]
- In March 2015, gotnews reported that Conservative figure, Allen West, had sexually assaulted and harrassed a number of women, including Michelle Fields, who is reported to have had a breast grabbed by West. Michelle had apparently confirmed that the assault had taken place, but asked that her confirmation be removed from the report. Nevertheless, the report cites independent confirmation of the incident.[181] Corey, on Twitter, cited the incident as an example of Michelle Fields making accusations to seek attention.[182]
Ben Carson
During the Republican primary, one of Donald Trump's opponents was Dr. Ben Carson, who, while weak on constitutional principles, had a reputation for being strong on Christian principles and morality. Nevertheless, Donald Trump saw fit to compare Dr. Carson to a child molester, saying, "that’s a big problem because you don’t cure that … as an example: child molesting. You don’t cure these people. You don’t cure a child molester. There’s no cure for it. Pathological, there’s no cure for that."[183] Dr. Carson shrugged it off as the press misinterpreting what Donald Trump had said.[184]
Much to the surprise of election observers, when Dr. Carson finally dropped out, he turned around and endorsed Donald Trump, who many would have considered his ideological opposite.[185] After months of working as a surrogate for the Trump campaign, it is now very sad to see how far Dr. Carson has fallen from his trademark calm and collected demeanor, and his strong advocacy for character, morality, and Christianity. In an October 2016 interview he sounds hysterical as he rails against "you people in the media", implying that Trump's sexual assault accusers are lying, but that it doesn't matter, and that they should wait until after the election to talk about Christian values and character issues.[186]
Failure to Condemn Oppressive Violence
In 2015, two brother attacked an elderly homeless hispanic man, beating him and urinating on him. The attack was racially motivated, and one of the brothers cited Trump as part of his rational for attacking the man. When informed of the attack, Donald Trump responded by saying "it would be a shame . . . I will say that people who are following me are very passionate. They love this country and they want this country to be great again. They are passionate."[187] Around the same time, Trump was interviewed by Hollywood Reporter and was asked about his thoughts on death threats that Megyn Kelly was receiving from his supporters following his criticism of her. Trump responded by saying, "I'm sure they don't mean that. I had heard that had happened. But I have gained such respect for the people that like me and respect me and that like my views, it's incredible."[188]
In February 2016, as Trump's security was removing a protestor from an event, Trump made the statement "The guards are being very gentle with him. I’d like to punch him in the face, I’ll tell you that."[189]
Miscellaneous
Donald Trump is frequently credited with having pressured Barrack Obama into releasing his birth certificate in 2011. He has been criticized for his participation in challenging Obama's eligibility for the office of President by questioning his place of birth. When asked about where Obama was born on 14 Sep 2016, Trump responded "I'll answer that question at the right time. I just don't want to answer it yet."[190]
In November 2015, Donald Trump made headlines appearing to gesticulate in mockery of the condition of a disabled reporter while criticizing him.[191] Video has been put together demonstrating that Trump has used similar gestures to mock others on at least two occasions, without any apparent similarity between the gestures and actual behavior of the person being mocked.[192]
He has proposed raising the federal minimum wage to $10/hour.[193]
Opposes the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact.[194]
On Jul 18 2015, Donald Trump gave an interview in which he impugned John McCain's war record, asserting "he's not a war hero", and then later, "He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured." This was in response to a statement that McCain had made regarding Trump, that "this performance with our friend out in Phoenix is very hurtful to me, because what he did was he fired up the crazies." McCain spent years in North Korea as a prisoner of war being tortured, having his bones broken and rebroken, wasting away on the poor rations afforded him, because he refused to capitulate to the demands of his captors. Rather than apologize, Trump has alternately defended his remarks and denied them.[195][196][197][198][199][200][201]
When asked by the Hollywood Reporter in 2015 about when he had last had occasion to offer an apology, he responded, "it was too many years ago to remember. I have one of the great memories of all time, but it was too long ago."[202]
He's Time Magazine's Person of the Year for 2016.[203] In his final debate with Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump would not commit to accepting the election results.[204]
Donald Trump has praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, making statements such as "I've already said he is very much of a leader. The man has very strong control over his country."[205][206] He has also expressed the idea that it was wrong to oust Saddam Hussein because he was efficient at killing terrorists. He has offered similar praise for Muammar Gaddafi. (It is not clear how one could justify the assertion that a sponsor of terrorism is good at killing terrorists.)[207][208]
In September 2016, Newsweek reported that interviews with former executives, court documents, and internal company records showed that a company controlled by Trump violated the embargo against Cuba in 1998. One former executive alleged that Trump had participated in discussions regarding a business trip to Cuba at the heart of the violation.[209]
Regarding nuclear proliferation, Trump has said, "you have so many countries already -- China, Pakistan, you have so many countries, Russia -- you have so many countries right now that have them. Now, wouldn't you rather, in a certain sense, have Japan have nuclear weapons when North Korea has nuclear weapons?"[210]
Donald Trump's wife, Melania, announced an initiative to combat cyberbullying in early November.[211]
In November 2016, Kellyanne Conway, former campaign manager for President-elect Donald Trump revealed that Trump did not plan to pursue charges against Hillary Clinton for her gross negligence in the handling of classified data.[212] Donald Trump also announced in November that he would be taking $1 per year as his pay as President, and that he would be leaving his businesses in order to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interests.[213][214]
