Samuel B. Parker
Samuel B. Parker is running as a Republican candidate for a U.S. Senate seat in the November 2018 Election, Utah.
He is campaigning on strong local government, conservatism, and constitutional principles.
In a debate between the U.S. Senate candidates, he gave an explanation for why he would refuse to fund Planned Parenthood. Criticized Mitt Romney for not showing up to debates and for his inconsistent history on many issues and his current website not providing statements of his policy positions. (At the time of writing, this does not appear to be the case, but may have been at the time of the debate.) Indicated that he supports a Trump-style America-first policy. Dismisses the importance of the government shutdowns that Orrin Hatch used as an excuse to vote for bad budget bills. Asserted that we cannot afford to send another moderate to DC to throw more gasoline on the fire of the runaway federal government. Supports hardening our electrical system infrastructure. Supports upgrading our missile defense system.[1][2]
In a debate between the U.S. Senate candidates on April 6th, Samuel B. Parker advocated repealing Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) and not replacing it in order to avoid a projected fiscal crisis and revitalize the healthcare market. Asserted that it is morally wrong for the government to take your property in order to give it to somebody else.[3]
At an event hosted by delegates for Sam Parker. At that event he asserted that the 17th amendment is broken and States have lost their checks and balances power. He indicated that he was interested in increasing the number of representative in the capital in order to improve representation. He said that under the first President Bush, entitlements increased which brought about the Tea Party uprising. He said that no matter what has happened that we are not stopping the increase of the Federal government and that the American people do not have a voice. Indicated that term limits would help. He is interested in getting a Federal Reserve audit to occur. Asserted that Social Security is not an entitlement. Nevertheless, due to its inherent insolvency, he feels it needs to be phased out. When asked about which 2016 Republican presidential primary candidate he aligned with most closely, he indicated Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. He said that Rick Perry was one of his choices until he fumbled and that he had also liked Ben Carson but that Ben had no juice or ideas.[4]
