James A. Dixon is running as a Republican candidate for Utah County Commission Seat A in the November 2018 Election, Utah County, Utah.

He doesn't really strongly impress me either way. He seems like a fairly typical municipal-level bureaucrat who doesn't have any concept of how his standard operating procedures constitute an abuse of power and infringe on the basic rights of the people he governs.

He has expressed in interest in exploring public transportation options. When asked about property rights, he stated that anyone should be able to do what they want on their property if the zoning rights exist. Expressed that the idea of expanding the number of commission seats should be studied, but that other options should be explored as well. Expressed that if the tax base grows, then taxes would not need to be raised, but that otherwise they might need to be. Expressed the intention to defer to cities when issues come up. Looks favorably upon giving tax breaks to attract businesses. Has stated that the presidential candidate he most closely aligned with was Marco Rubio. Filed an intent to gather signatures, but expressed that he will not be doing so due to a lack of resources.[1]
