James D. Otto is a Superior Court Judge seeking to retain that position in 2012.

Has been rated Exceptionally Well Qualified by the Los Angeles County Bar Association.[1]

Extensive and overall left-leaning endorsements.[2]

Accused by his challenger of administratively punishing a colleague for refusing to raise fines. [3] The Metropolitan News-Enterprise opines that this is a petty reason to subject a judge to a challenge.[4] We take issue, however with the sense of entitlement the legal community bestows upon judges. If Judge Otto is punishing his colleagues for speaking out against corruption and looking after the interests of citizens, then this would seem to us like the perfect opportunity for a challenge. (We would love to hear Judge Otto's side of the issue.)
